Living Stones Church Of God Worship Center

The Living Stones Church Of God had its beginnings as the Oxford Church of God. It was
founded on June 14, 1951 and first pastured by Reverend Edward G. Parrott. While there is
little information available of its first years, we do know it was reorganized in 1958 while
Reverend Bryant Collins was pastor. The Church met in the old Lewis School building until
July 13, 1961, when the facility at 40 Church Street was purchased. A number of men
served as pastors of the church over the years. During those years the church endured a
number of trials, including a fire that nearly destroyed the building. Reverend James Briley
was pastor at the time. He along with members and friends of the church, repaired the
damage and continued the work.

In December 2003, the Church purchased 15 acres of land for our new facility. On
February 1, 2004, God directed our thoughts to change our name to "Living Stones Church
of God Worship Center" while Pastor Abbott was preaching from 1 Peter 2. In the spring of
2004, 7 acres was cleared. The facility at 40 Church Street was sold and in the spring of
2005 construction began and the concrete poured on May 21, 2005. Construction was
completed in time to hold our first service at the new facility on July 31, 2005.

Since our dedication and first service at our new facility, the Spirit of the Lord has taken
charge with many blessed reults. The Church has grown not only in numbers, but with
individual dedication, total involvement, outreach ministry, care and understanding for
our brothers and sisters and the desire to save all souls in the name of Jesus Christ our
Lord.
